The buzz about Madonna showing up at the Roxy October 22 was true... despite the valiant efforts of many to make the gays think otherwise, Madonna took the stage shortly after 2am to greet her adoring fans and play 3 new tracks from her upcoming album while dancing alone and with people she was pulling up onto the stage.
When I got there at 11p, the line stretched down 18th Street and around the corner onto 11th Avenue. After spending a little over an hour in line on a cold, drizzly New York night, I made it inside, hid the camera phone in my the underwear just in case and paid my $25 cover. The place was jam-packed; it was unlike any night I've ever gone to the Roxy. I made my way in with some friends, and met up with Brian. Brian had the inside scoop that Madonna would be taking the stage around 2-230a. WOOHOO!!
So, I don't think you need a minute by minute recount of what happened. Lets just say it was the best $25 I've spent in a while. In fact, even better than the $300 I paid for my ticket (never again! Love ya, babe... but not that much.) to see her on the Re-Invention Tour.
I have provided links to some videos I took with my camera phone. They are not the best, but it gives you an idea; the bass was so loud it messes up the sound so keep your speakers a little low. In any case, I was a little ways away, but if you see something with a blond head and a blue outfit, that's Madonna. HAHAHA!! HEY!! It's the best I could do with the damn "No Camera" rule!

how awesome. i thought about making a drive from Boston for her but then i thought otherwise. glad to see it was fabulous.
